1835 Capped Bust Dime 10C PCGS VF35
The 1835 dime is a common coin, and its production continued into 1836 and, possibly, 1837. Mint State examples are plentiful, with a fairly generous supply of gems for the more common varieties. Though not distinguished in popular guidebooks, the numeral 8 comes in two different styles. The “Fancy” or “Script” 8 is asymmetrical, while the “Block” 8 consists of two stacked loops of similar shape. Two obverse dies of each are known, and these were paired with eight reverses for a total of nine die marriages. Five of these varieties are common, while. JR-2, -6, -7, and -8 are moderately scarce.

According to the NGC Price Guide, as of June 2025, a Dime from 1835 in circulated condition is worth between $30 and $850. However, on the open market, 1835 Dimes in pristine, uncirculated condition sell for as much as $17000.
