1807 10C VF30 PCGS
1807 10C VF30 PCGS. With a mintage of 165,000 and an estimated survival of only 1,000 pieces, this 1807 Draped Bust Dime is a remarkable example of early American coinage. Dimes minted between 1798 and 1807 feature the distinctive Draped Bust obverse paired with the Heraldic Eagle reverse. Struck from a single die pair, this piece exhibits pleasing eye appeal, with a two-toned patina of silver, copper, and gunmetal as well as some toning between devices, all indicating possible long-term storage in an envelope. Most early U.S coinage has had an old cleaning, and as a result, a two-tier market exists. This attractive representative of the final Draped Bust dime is a superb example, with the last example sold $3,360 on 05/24 HA.
